I purchased a Danby dehumidifier a couple of years ago. It has very little time on it and still looks like new.

When I started it this year, the compressor got extremely hot and kept shutting down. I called the 800 number and the lady told me it is out of warranty and I could talk to a technician for a cost. I said that I wouldn't waste anymore money on a Danby product that work such a short time for me. She then said have a good day sir and hung up on me.

I will never purchase another Danby product and I will inform everyone not to waste their money on a Danby product. Pretty sad state of consumer products when you basically throw $175 out after two years.

Product or Service Mentioned: Danby Dehumidifier.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

I didn't like: Products that are junk, Rude customer service.

I have the exact same problem with my Danby dehumidifier. Called Sylvane, they told me to call Danby, they told me to email a specific department.

That was 8 days ago. I just wrote them tonight looking for an answer.

I'm supposed to be under warranty. What good is it if they don't respond when you need service.
